Terms of Service

1. What the Service does

Pitch Deposit lets professionals ("Recipients") receive unsolicited pitches through a personal link, where senders ("Senders") pay a refundable deposit before the pitch is submitted. If the Recipient responds within the stated response window, they keep the deposit as a reading fee. If they do not, the deposit is refunded to the Sender automatically. Pitch Deposit is the facilitator of this exchange — it is not a party to the communication between Sender and Recipient.

2. Accounts

• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current, including a valid email address.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
• Recipients may set their own deposit amount (subject to platform limits) and response window, and are responsible for honoring the commitment those settings represent.

3. Sender obligations

• Submit only pitches you have the right to send, and do not submit content that is illegal, fraudulent, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or infringing.
• Do not use the Service for spam, phishing, malware distribution, or to harass or pressure Recipients.
• A deposit secures a read and a response — it does not guarantee a favorable outcome, an investment, a meeting, or any particular result.

4. Recipient obligations

• Respond to paid pitches in good faith within the response window you have published. Non-response triggers the automatic refund described in the Refund Policy.
• A response should be a substantive reply to the pitch, not an automated or empty acknowledgment intended to retain a deposit.

5. Payments and deposits

Deposits are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. / Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). Pitch Deposit never receives or stores your card details. By paying a deposit you also agree to Stripe's terms. Refunds follow the Refund Policy. Platform payment processing fees may apply and are disclosed before payment.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the deposit model (for example, a Recipient repeatedly retaining deposits without genuine responses, or a Sender submitting abusive content), or create risk for the Service, other users, or Stripe. Pitches and deposits already in flight will be handled per the Refund Policy.

7. Disclaimers and liability

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We are not responsible for the content of pitches or responses, the outcome of any exchange, or dealings between Senders and Recipients.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pitch Deposit's total liability arising from the Service is limited to the total deposit amounts you paid or received through the Service in the six months before the claim.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
